This effort culminated in the creation of a paper titled \u201cRebuilding Coral Reefs: A Decadal Grand Challenge\u201d which provides a summary of the most relevant and recent natural and social science findings and their implications for the numerous discussions and negotiations taking place at the global level.<\/p>\n<p>The paper will be\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/coralreefs.org\/publications\/rebuilding_coral_reefs\/\" target=\"_top\" rel=\"noopener\">available here<\/a> on the day of the event.<\/p>\n<p>This event will bring together scientists, including the lead author of the paper, Nancy Knowlton, and policy actors to discuss the paper and how it can support governments as they prepare for key negotiations on the dual crisis of climate change and biodiversity loss.<\/p>\n<p>This event is organized under the auspices of the International Coral Reef Symposium 2021 by Future Earth Coasts, and partners including the International Coral Reef Society, the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, UN Environment Programme, ICRI, HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and the Kellner &amp; Stoll Foundation for Climate and Environment.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.icrs2021.de\/program\/science-policy-dialogue\">Find out more here.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Date of event: Tuesday 20 July 2021 Time: 12:00 UTC\/ 14:00 CEST Venue: Online Register here Future Earth Coasts is happy to announce this virtual event where we will discuss the urgency of coral reef protection, efficient management measures and the science to guide us through it.
