FEC IPO Mexico is hosted by a distinguished consortium, including:

  1. Sudcalifornian Alliance for the Environment and Sustainable Development (ASUMYD)

ASUMYD is a civil association recently created and dedicated to generating knowledge and strategic analysis for decision-making in environmental matters and sustainable development in Baja California Sur and related regions. As a think tank, ASUMYD focuses on applied research, designing evidence-based public policies, and promoting innovative solutions for managing ecosystems and natural resources. In addition, this organization works collectively on projects with experts from other parts of Mexico, Latin America, and the rest of the world.

  1. Representative Office in Baja California Sur of Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources of Mexico (SEMARNAT)

The Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT) is the Mexican federal government institution responsible for designing, coordinating, and implementing public policies on environmental protection, sustainable use of natural resources, and climate change mitigation. Its main objectives are to guarantee society’s right to a healthy environment and promote the country’s sustainable development.

  1. General Directorate of Environment and Natural Resources of the Government of the State of Baja California Sur (DGMAYRN)

It is the government entity responsible for designing and implementing local environmental policies in the state of Baja California Sur, Mexico. This Directorate is responsible for planning and regulating the use of natural resources, protecting the environment and promoting sustainable development in the region.

  1. Marine Botany Research Program of the Autonomous University of Baja California Sur (PIBM-UABCS)

It is a working group that includes different lines of scientific research, such as Systematics, Biogeography, Taxonomy, Ecology, Physiology, Experimentation, Molecular Biology, Stable isotopes, and Conservation of marine and coastal vegetation of the Baja California Peninsula, Mexico. Its head is Dr. Juan Manuel Lopez-Vivas.
